About the position

The Senior Associate-Digital Product Management role at American Express focuses on translating business needs into innovative digital risk products. This position is integral to the Digital Risk Products & Data Strategy team, which is responsible for developing risk management solutions across the customer lifecycle. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance risk capabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, all while driving transformational change within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Translate needs of business owners/stakeholders and deliver on the Digital Product roadmap.
  • Envision and design next generation global consumer and commercial credit risk capabilities.
  • Partner with Sr. Manager to transform risk systems and oversee execution of design solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to brainstorm innovative solutions and capture requirements.
  • Determine requirement readiness for development and prioritize initiatives.
  • Drive enhancement of customer-facing processes that support core risk management decisions.
  • Work with Risk Capabilities and AET to deploy next generation risk capabilities.
  • Run ad hoc analytics in support of capability development.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Global Banking, and AXP Privacy Office to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Deep and broad expertise in consumer or commercial risk management.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and operate effectively within large cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and design industry-leading solutions.
  • Understanding of Scaled Agile (SAFe) principles and experience managing a backlog of initiatives.
  • Knowledge of credit authorization, credit bureau, decision science models, or Amex data and risk technology platforms.
  • Experience working with Cornerstone Data, SAS/SQL, Hive preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree with 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 1 year of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in another core credit risk management function.
  • Knowledge of Amex data and risk technology platforms.
