About the position

The Senior Associate Equity Research position at Truist involves creating and publishing proprietary equity research focused on the biotech sector. The role requires conducting due diligence, providing industry expertise, and maintaining relationships with C-suite executives of corporate clients. The associate will work closely with senior analysts to produce research that informs institutional buy-side clients, while also building financial models and formulating investment ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish proprietary equity research content with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) for institutional clients.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions.
  • Initiate C-suite corporate access resources for institutional equity clients, including non-deal roadshows and conferences.
  • Conduct independent industry assessments and company-specific research reports.
  • Engage with corporate client relationships at the C-level (CEO, President, COO, CFO, etc.).
  • Work closely with senior analysts in the research production process.
  • Conduct macro, industry, and company-level research.
  • Build financial models including market forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Conduct financial and valuation analyses.
  • Formulate investment ideas and write draft research commentary.
  • Maintain active dialogue with representatives of covered companies and institutional clients.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Licenses Required: SIE, Series 7, Series 63, Series 87, and either Series 86 or a FINRA waiver for CFA II completion.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience or academic study beyond BA/BS.
  • Mastery of financial and accounting concepts for creating in-depth financial models.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and sales skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Degree and/or CFA Designation.
  • 6+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching.
