About the position

The Senior Associate, Field Service Engineering position is a critical role that provides onsite technical customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as performing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of Electronic Warfare equipment and systems, as well as the ability to work in various environments, including industrial and military establishments. The individual will be responsible for checking out and approving the operational quality of system equipment, ensuring that all installations meet the required standards and specifications. In this position, the engineer will support customers by providing instructions on the operation and maintenance of the systems, helping to interpret customer needs, and clarifying responsibilities for problem resolution. The role involves significant time spent onboard ships or crafts under construction and underway, which may require travel. The engineer will perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, install radar and electronic warfare systems, and set up test equipment according to prescribed methods. Additionally, the engineer will analyze malfunctions using manufacturer's manuals and specifications, perform repairs, replacements, and adjustments of equipment or components, and inspect equipment for accurate assembly and defects. Collaboration with lead engineers to plan equipment layout and resolve operational issues is also a key aspect of this role. The position demands physical capabilities, including the ability to climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and maintain various postures for extended periods. Completing all required documentation for review and submission is essential to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical customer support through installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
  • Check out and approve operational quality of system equipment.
  • Support instruction to customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
  • Interpret customer needs and clarify responsibilities for problem resolution.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on Electronic Warfare equipment.
  • Install radar and electronic warfare systems.
  • Set up and ensure proper operation of test equipment according to prescribed methods.
  • Support operation of equipment to demonstrate proper function and analyze malfunctions using manuals and specifications.
  • Perform repair, replacement, and adjustment of equipment or components, replacing worn parts.
  • Inspect components of equipment for accurate assembly and defects.
  • Consult with lead engineers to plan equipment layout and resolve system operation and maintenance problems.
  • Assist in the installation of repaired equipment in various settings, including industrial and military establishments.
  • Complete all required documentation for review and submission.

Requirements

  • Secret Clearance required; must be able to attain clearance if not currently held.
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience using laboratory stimulus and measurement equipment (power supplies, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, etc.).
