About the position

The Senior Associate, Field Service Engineering position is a critical role that provides on-site technical customer support, focusing on the installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. This role requires a hands-on approach, as the engineer will be responsible for ensuring the operational quality of system equipment and providing instructions to customers on the operation and maintenance of these systems. The position involves interpreting customer needs and determining whether issues should be escalated to Program Management personnel or Program engineers. A significant aspect of this role includes spending time onboard ships or crafts that are under construction or underway, which adds a unique dimension to the job and requires adaptability to various working environments. In this role, the engineer will perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on various applications of Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment, install radar and EW systems, and set up test equipment according to prescribed methods. The engineer will also support the operation of equipment to demonstrate its proper function and analyze malfunctions using manufacturer manuals and specifications. Responsibilities include repairing, replacing, and adjusting equipment or components, inspecting equipment for accurate assembly and defects, and consulting with lead engineers to plan equipment layouts and resolve operational issues. The position demands physical capabilities, such as climbing vertical ladders, working in tight spaces, and standing or kneeling for extended periods. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for completing all required documentation for review and submission, ensuring compliance with operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical customer support through installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on various applications of Electronic Warfare equipment.
  • Install radar and electronic warfare systems.
  • Set up and ensure proper operation of test equipment according to prescribed methods.
  • Support the operation of equipment to demonstrate its proper function and analyze malfunctions using manufacturer's manuals and specifications.
  • Repair, replace, and adjust equipment or components, replacing worn parts as necessary.
  • Inspect components of equipment for accurate assembly and defects such as loose screws, nuts, connections, and frayed wires.
  • Consult with lead engineers to plan equipment layout and resolve problems in system operations and maintenance.
  • Assist in the installation of repaired equipment in various settings, including industrial and military establishments.
  • Complete all required documentation for review and submission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using laboratory stimulus and measurement equipment (power supplies, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, etc.).
  • Secret Clearance required; if not currently held, must be able to attain clearance.
