About the position

As a Senior Associate Global Network Engineer at Hilton, you will play a crucial role in the Global Network Engineering team, supporting the management and engineering of Hilton's global network infrastructure. This position involves working on innovative technology projects that enhance the hospitality experience, ensuring robust network performance across corporate offices and hotel locations worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the network design and architecture of Hilton's corporate and hotel networks while collaborating with network support vendors and OEMs.
  • Update network technical standards and strategic technical roadmaps for corporate and hotel Local Area Networks.
  • Implement new network projects through various phases including initiation, architecture, requirements analysis, design, project management, and systems integration.
  • Develop and test new configurations and network designs in labs.
  • Utilize Meraki APIs for network automation and scripting.
  • Maintain and update network documentation, ensuring all configurations, changes, and procedures are well-documented.
  • Ensure network security best practices are followed, performing regular audits and updates to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop operation metrics for all elements of the corporate environment and actively lead vendor and network performance monitoring.
  • Act as the backup role within the LAN/WAN and Security team.
  • Be a subject matter expert on Meraki SDWAN with deployment experience.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience automating common network functions in Python or an equivalent scripting language and working with Meraki API.
  • In-depth understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve global multisite network connectivity issues.
  • Experience with enterprise routing/switching, including BGP, OSPF, Ethernet, MPLS, VPN, and 802.11x technologies, primarily using Cisco routers, Cisco/Meraki switches, and Cisco firewalls.
  • Hands-on Meraki experience, including all MX, MS, and MR hardware and their various configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with designing networks using industry standards and best-practice design standards.
  • CCNA certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus six (6)+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience.
  • Five (5)+ years of professional work experience in Technology or related field.
  • Four (4)+ years of experience in Enterprise Network Engineering.
  • Any additional Cisco/Meraki certifications: CCNP, CCSP, CMNO, CMNA, etc.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud networking and integrations and AWS certifications.
  • Previous experience in a large-scale, multisite enterprise environment.
