About the position

L3Harris is seeking a Network Management Systems Engineer to join our IP Network Management Systems (NMS) Tier 2 Engineering team. This role is focused on supporting and maintaining our diverse application stack within the network management domain to ensure operational excellence. Candidates should be proficient at executing and documenting procedures, proactive in suggesting process improvements, and eager to learn and grow in their role. The position is based in Melbourne, FL and is an onsite role, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and teamwork in achieving the company's mission. In this role, you will handle first level escalations for a suite of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions, including BMC Remedy, CA/Broadcom Spectrum, CA NFA, Splunk, and OwnCloud, to enhance IP network operations. You will participate in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, conducting system analysis and troubleshooting as needed. Collaboration with vendors and NMS Tier 3 will be essential to help resolve technical issues promptly. You will also be responsible for documenting procedures clearly and actively seeking opportunities for continuous process improvements. The ability to execute tasks effectively and adapt to changing requirements is crucial for success in this position. Candidates must be able to obtain FAA Public Trust, which is a requirement for this role. Responsibilities

  • Handle first level escalations for a suite of COTS solutions, including BMC Remedy, CA/Broadcom Spectrum, CA NFA, Splunk, and OwnCloud, to enhance IP network operations.
  • Participate in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, conducting system analysis and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors and NMS Tier 3 to help resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Document procedures clearly and actively seek opportunities for continuous process improvements.
  • Execute tasks effectively and adapt to changing requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in IT Security or related field) and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with network monitoring protocols/methods such as SNMP, NetFlow, and Syslog.

Nice-to-haves

  • Eagerness to learn and increase knowledge depth.
  • Familiarization with Missions Networks programs strongly preferred.
