About the position

The Senior Associate in Power and Utilities at Alvarez & Marsal will focus on renewable generation, transmission, and distribution within the Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice. This role involves providing consulting services, managing projects, and engaging in business development efforts while ensuring exceptional client service. The position requires a strong understanding of the power sector and the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consulting services in the Power sector.
  • Understand the Power sector market in the US, including local regional markets.
  • Comprehend the Power projects development lifecycle, including origination, capital strategy, engineering, and construction.
  • Engage in proposal preparation, managing both administrative and content aspects.
  • Demonstrate ownership of tasks, workstreams, and projects, ensuring clear communication and exceptional client service.
  • Synthesize complex information into meaningful recommendations and action plans.
  • Lead meetings and presentations with managerial and executive clients, projecting confidence and mastery of the scope of work.
  • Respond promptly to project demands and anticipate critical actions for success.
  • Demonstrate project management experience across multiple projects.
  • Contribute to business development through proposals, thought leadership, and research.
  • Identify business opportunities to expand AandM's presence on assigned accounts.
  • Support internal administrative efforts such as resource management and invoicing.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of experience working on complex projects including strategy, early-stage planning, construction, and operations.
  • Graduate degree in business administration or engineering management is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure with fast-paced workflows and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
