About the position

The Senior Associate, Regional Sales - Institutional role at Viatris focuses on promoting and developing the company's institutional sales of generic pharmaceutical products. This position is crucial for exceeding sales goals and maintaining strong relationships with customers, while also acting as a resource for industry knowledge and product information.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and develop Viatris Institutional as the primary source for generic pharmaceutical products within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with customers and communicate on issues regarding new products, key products, launch products, inventory status, and contract pricing changes.
  • Become an industry resource for customers, keeping up to date with key industry topics and drug shortages.
  • Contact a defined customer base through telesales, direct mailing, faxes, e-mails, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Assist Key Account Managers with managing their accounts and coverage of open/vacant geographies.
  • Forward orders received and new account information to Viatris Institutional Customer Service as required.
  • Communicate pertinent information affecting customers and the MI business to Key Account Managers.
  • Constantly prospect for new business and accounts, relaying information promptly to the affected Key Account Manager and District Manager.
  • Send out announcements for new product launches and communicate feedback from accounts.
  • Analyze sales figures and territory data for accounts on a routine basis or as requested by sales leadership.
  • Communicate competitive pricing information to Sales Management, Sales Operations, and Viatris Institutional Bids and Contracts Department.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required.
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in Sales preferred, or a combination of experience and/or education.
  • Knowledge of procedures for establishing relationships via telephone, fax, and e-mail.
  • Basic understanding of the sales process.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions.
