Charles River Associates (CRA) is seeking a Senior Associate/Regulatory and Financial Modeling Manager to join its Energy practice. This role is pivotal in providing consulting services to a diverse range of clients, including electric and gas utilities, investors, and clean energy technology leaders. The Senior Associate will be responsible for managing teams in regulatory-focused client engagements, which encompass general and limited-issue rate cases, regulatory strategy development, and regulatory due diligence for transactions. The position requires a strong understanding of utility ratemaking and the regulatory process, as well as the ability to conduct research and utilize software to analyze and deliver data-driven insights. In this role, you will act as a principal custodian of the Energy practice's ratemaking models and serve as a subject matter expert on ratemaking issues and regulatory strategy. You will perform a variety of quantitative consulting tasks, including developing forecast scenarios, evaluating regulatory outcomes, and assessing the value of regulated entities based on their future financial performance. Additionally, you will support the development of industry-leading models through research, programming, and model vetting, particularly in areas like transaction support and cost of service. The Senior Associate will also be responsible for developing presentations and reports to effectively communicate findings to clients, ensuring that complex matters are shared concisely and accurately. You will oversee junior staff in the production of reports and analyses, providing mentorship and guidance to foster their professional growth.
