About the position

The Senior Associate Scientist in Neuroscience at Bristol Myers Squibb is a laboratory-based role focused on research projects and support for neurodegenerative indications. The position involves pharmacological characterization of target engagement and pharmacodynamics in CNS-relevant models, contributing to the development of transformational therapeutics for patients with neurodegenerative and neuromuscular diseases. Responsibilities

  • Implementation and validation of assay systems in relevant cell types to screen and characterize pharmacological responses to modulation with small and large molecules.
  • Development of assays in iPSC/cocultures/organoids with functional readouts relevant to primary neurodegeneration indications.
  • Generate, record, and report raw data and interpret to refine next steps.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of all data in electronic notebooks.
  • Analysis and presentation of data using tools like Excel and GraphPad Prism, including statistical analysis.
  • Presentation of data updates at project team and departmental meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of academic and/or industry experience, or a Master's Degree with 2+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
  • Experience with cell and protein analysis methods including flow cytometry, ELISA, and simple western systems.
  • Familiarity with tissue culture techniques, particularly with iPSC-derived neural cells.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with human samples (e.g., blood) is considered advantageous.
  • Motivated and detail-oriented with a strong interest in driving productivity in clinically directed research.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and GraphPad Prism.
