About the position

The Senior Audit Data Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert within Vanguard's Internal Audit & SOX department, specifically on the Global Investment & Finance Audit Services Team (GIFAS). This role involves collaborating with various teams to design, build, and deliver effective analytic results and insights for audit engagements across the Finance division. The analyst will work closely with audit leaders to identify opportunities for data analysis and continuous assurance, enhancing efficiency and coverage in audit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with audit/SOX teams to identify, organize, and prioritize data analytics ideas.
  • Partner with audit/SOX teams to build data analytics, visualized reporting, and automation utilities across all phases of the audit/SOX lifecycle.
  • Engage with business area key stakeholders to share completed work and value delivered.
  • Identify opportunities and provide analytic design specifications to the IAS central team for complex analytics development.
  • Consult, educate, and empower audit/SOX team members to identify analytic opportunities and utilize analytic tools.
  • Support departmental data analytics transformation workstreams and initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years related business or technical experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience (e.g., MIS, Information Technology, Data Sciences, Data/Business Analytics, Finance, Business Administration).
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Tableau, PowerBI, Python, SQL, AWS, RPA (UiPath), and Database Platforms (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of data analytics techniques and their application across business processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both non-technical auditors and technical developers/engineers.
  • Planning and organizational skills with the ability to execute and deliver concurrent priorities.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and achieve success in a fast-paced, complex work environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of audit, risk, and controls; relevant certification (CISA, CIA, CPA) is a plus but not required.
