About the position

The Senior Audit Manager is responsible for leading audit engagements within the Wealth Management and Asset Management sectors. This role involves planning audits, managing project budgets and timelines, and ensuring compliance with departmental standards. The Senior Audit Manager also oversees the performance management of audit staff, provides technical expertise, and collaborates with senior management to assess business risks and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit engagements, including planning, staffing, and execution.
  • Provide technical expertise and sound audit practices to the Audit Team.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Wealth Management and Asset Management sectors, including regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with Senior and Executive Management to understand business risks and changes.
  • Manage special projects as assigned and participate in audit result discussions with business units.
  • Assign work to auditors, set priorities, and monitor activities during audits.
  • Conduct performance management for direct reports and identify training needs for audit teams.
  • Review audit work, documentation, findings, and final reports for adherence to policies and standards.
  • Evaluate corporate management and business processes during audits.
  • Apply analytical skills to identify potential control weaknesses.

Requirements

  • 7-12 years of internal auditing experience.
  • Knowledge of auditing in the financial services industry and basic accounting principles.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA preferred.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong report writing and work paper documentation skills.
  • College or University degree.
