About the position

The Senior Audit Manager - Data Governance at Bank of America is responsible for managing and executing audit programs that assess enterprise data management and records management policies. This role involves developing a comprehensive data audit plan, executing audits in compliance with policies, and producing quality reports for management. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage a team, foster relationships with business partners, and ensure effective communication with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of resources and multiple bodies of work.
  • Review documentation of work completed and manage relationships with stakeholders.
  • Plan, perform, and lead audit reviews related to enterprise data and records management governance programs.
  • Support aggregation of data management ratings across the division.
  • Lead responses for regulatory requests and create presentation materials for regulatory exams.
  • Engage with regulators to validate work as required.
  • Manage staff during audit engagements and provide feedback on their work.
  • Design and perform data governance audits, identifying and defining issues.
  • Challenge lines of business to ensure comprehensive remediation of issues.
  • Develop test plans to address risks and root causes of issues.
  • Review work performed by the team and coach associates.
  • Prioritize issues that may be past due or high risk with leadership.
  • Proactively communicate status and escalate challenges and findings.
  • Establish and maintain business partner relationships.

Requirements

  • College degree required or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of audit experience in Audit or Risk/Control Management areas in financial services industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with data management or data governance topics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Bank of America business processes and application systems.
  • Analytical / Automation Skills (i.e., SQL, Alteryx, Excel).
  • Advanced degree or certifications (i.e., CIA, CISA).
  • Technology risk and/or Information Technology experience.
  • Project management experience.
