About the position

The Internal Audit position at Vaco is designed for an experienced professional with a strong background in auditing, particularly within the SaaS and Fintech industries. The role focuses on evaluating and improving internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and assessing technology risks in a complex operational environment. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in AWS cloud environments and modern tech stacks to conduct thorough audits and drive transformational improvements in internal controls.

Requirements

• 10 years of progressive internal audit experience in either Big 4 or in the SaaS/Fintech industry
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in auditing platforms developed in the AWS cloud environment, utilizing microservices based modern tech stack
• Experience conducting audits within a complex operational and regulatory environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of technology risks, including direct experience evaluating the effectiveness of cybersecurity, privacy, engineering controls, and AI/ML risks
• Experience in creating automation for controls evaluation using scripting languages like Python
• Strong working knowledge of information technology best practices and control frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO27001, and COBIT
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Nice-to-haves

• AWS, ISO27001, and CISM or CISSP certifications preferred
• Demonstrated influencing skills including the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms and inspire transformational improvement in internal controls
