About the position

The position involves working as an auditor at Ally Financial, focusing on enhancing the audit experience and promoting visibility and partnership across various business units. The role requires a proactive approach to audit activities, utilizing critical thinking and data literacy to provide consultation on emerging control practices. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Ally management cross-functionally to enhance the audit experience and promote visibility and partnership.
  • Independently develop, implement, and document audit tests and issue validations in accordance with Audit Services policies and procedures, primarily focused on Finance, Treasury, and Capital Markets subject matter.
  • Conduct work paper reviews as needed.
  • Provide support in walk throughs and project status meetings.
  • Assist in the drafting of PAIs (potential audit issues).
  • Use data literacy and analytics to provide consultation to management regarding emerging control practices.
  • Proactively communicate with management and peers to drive alignment and mitigate customer service issues before they occur.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and creativity to analyze Ally's risk and control environment.
  • Participate in Audit Transformation initiatives to improve the enterprise and its role within Ally business.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members who are starting their careers.

Requirements

  • Relevant 4-year degree or comparable combination of education and experience (including military service).
  • 3+ years of work experience in audit or financial services.
  • Relevant certification (CIA, CPA, CISA, CAMS, CFE, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience using ACL and Teammate or other Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) is a plus.
  • Desire to creatively identify problems and provide solutions or recommendations.
  • Understanding of the industry, company, and products to promote achievement of objectives and goals.
  • Curiosity and passion for Finance/Treasury/Capital Markets subject matter.
  • Analytical attitude and ability to think critically.
  • Proactive in challenging the status quo and adaptable to change.
  • Open to feedback and continuous learning.
  • Resilient and composed under pressure.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) such as ACL and Teammate.
