About the position

The Senior Auditor, Digital Transformation is responsible for conducting and documenting audits focused on digital transformation initiatives within Northern Trust. This role emphasizes evaluating technology and transformation risks, particularly in areas such as data governance, Cloud, DevOps, Blockchain, Generative AI, Machine Learning, and robotics/automation. The Senior Auditor will support internal audit projects related to IT controls and information security, ensuring effective risk management and compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify technology and transformation risk and controls within processes
• Support internal audit projects related to IT controls, information security/cyber, pre-production system implementation, IT governance, and operational areas
• Perform testing of design and operational effectiveness of controls
• Maintain technical competence through ongoing training and development opportunities

Requirements

• 4 years of IT auditing and systems experience
• Knowledge of audit procedures and technical security and control standards
• Solid understanding of Information Technology and information security controls
• Knowledge of operations, functions, and objectives of interfacing areas
• Ability to quickly upskill from independent research, trainings, and certifications
• Self-starter with the ability to self-motivate
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly numerate with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to proactively assess issues, identify solutions, and problem-solve
• Ability to adapt and react positively in a changing work environment
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
• Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of personnel
• Flexibility, multi-tasking, creative thinking, and good business judgment skills

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Word and Excel
• Understanding of newer technologies (e.g., Containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD) and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, MS Azure)
• Certified Information System Audit (CISA) certification
• Additional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Professional (PMI - ACP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
