About the position

The Senior Automation Engineer - Mechanical will be responsible for designing and implementing complex automated and robotic systems to enhance manufacturing operations and enable Smart Factory initiatives. This role involves leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and integrating innovative automation solutions into existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Create complex automated and robotic systems and applications.
• Lead efforts in researching and developing new automation concepts and solutions.
• Utilize engineering tools to provide reliable solutions to complex problems.
• Review designs and make recommendations for improvements.
• Coordinate efforts across multiple automation engineering leads on projects.
• Identify opportunities for introducing automation and new technology within operations.
• Create documentation including operating instructions and user manuals for deployed solutions.
• Mentor less experienced Automation Engineers.
• Participate in recruiting activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expert level knowledge of CAD software and engineering design tools.
• Proficiency in programming software for innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with various business segments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with robotics, controls systems, or mechanical/electrical design.
• Experience in software development.
