About the position

The Robotics Automation Engineer at JSat Automation is responsible for engineering design, planning, and managing all phases of projects to ensure high customer satisfaction. This role involves resolving issues related to project scope, providing detailed information to various stakeholders, and leveraging extensive knowledge in laboratory and industrial robotics systems to deliver successful automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Python applications and scripts for laboratory automation.
  • Design, program, and validate complex liquid handling processes on automated platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, configure equipment, and implement solutions.
  • Provide on-site technical support, including installation, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including Bill of Materials, Sequences of Operations, and equipment specifications.
  • Identify and implement efficient solutions for complex automation challenges.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Actively participate in and lead client meetings and presentations.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory automation.
  • Proven expertise in programming and integrating laboratory automation equipment (e.g., Fanuc, Tecan, Hamilton, Dynamic Devices, Opentrons, Epson, Staubli, Agilent, Precise Automation).
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in Python, C#, or other programming languages.
  • In-depth knowledge of automated liquid handling platforms (e.g., Hamilton, Dynamic Devices, Tecan, Agilent).
  • Experience with robotic arms (e.g., Fanuc, Staubli, Precise, URe3).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with software tools such as Scheduling software, analytical laboratory tools, LIMS or MES solutions, SCADA systems.
