About the position

Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join their Quality Assurance Practice, which is the largest globally, servicing over 800 clients. This role involves leading automation efforts in software development testing, focusing on quality engineering transformation and next-gen QA offerings. The position is hybrid, requiring three days in the office in Plano, TX.

Responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements to technical design and requirements for automation.
• Develop in-sprint test automation using Java/Groovy with Selenium and Cucumber for UI automation.
• Implement in-sprint API test automation using Rest Assured based libraries and databases.
• Deploy and run code on CI/CD tools.
• Work in an Agile development environment and communicate task progress and issues to stakeholders.
• Utilize knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot applications, and Microservices architecture for automation.
• Run code builds on CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo, and TeamCity.
• Work with cloud deployments using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of Quality Assurance industry experience with significant experience leading multiple software development testing efforts.
• 5+ years of hands-on strong automation coding experience in Core Java and/or Groovy based object-oriented programming in Behavior Driven Development with Cucumber or TDD.
• 5+ years of experience with automation on UI testing using Selenium and Playwright.
• 1+ years of experience with Accessibility Testing (ADA Testing) for web applications.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of tools such as Postman, JMeter, Blazemeter, Kafka, Oracle SQL, MongoDB, SOAP UI.
• Familiarity with AWS services like S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM.
