About the position

The Senior Automation Tester at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) will support the United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software for the Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch. This role involves working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment to deliver defensive cyber solutions that protect against cyber threats. The position requires a leader who can analyze test results, develop automated testing scenarios, and coordinate with development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes.
• Analyze the underlying causes of performance issues and provide corrective action.
• Develop an automated test scenario and environment for performance testing.
• Review and recommend improvements in existing test procedures.
• Coordinate with the testing team to develop performance test plans and cases.
• Use web methods like GET, PUT, POST, DELETE, etc.
• Validate XML and JSON body using JSON parser.
• Perform load and security testing on web services.
• Design and develop test automation scripts to create, enhance, debug, and run test cases.
• Research issues in software through testing to validate feedback, response time, and error code.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and 10 years of related professional experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields and 8 years of related professional experience.
• Programming Languages: Java, Angular, Gitlab, RHEL, JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, and Python.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and software development life cycle management.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with SIMP Project, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL.
• Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command.
• Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office.
