About the position

The Senior Automation Tester at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) will support the United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software solutions for the Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch. This role involves working on advanced development programs, focusing on defensive cyber solutions to protect against cyber threats. The position emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and adherence to agile methodologies, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Responsibilities

• Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes.
• Analyze the underlying causes of performance issues and provide corrective action.
• Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing.
• Review and recommend improvements in existing test procedures.
• Coordinate with the testing team to develop performance test plans and cases.
• Use web methods like GET, PUT, POST, DELETE, etc.
• Validate XML and JSON body using JSON parser.
• Utilize OAuth and OAuth2 authentication mechanisms.
• Conduct load and security testing on web services.
• Design and develop test automation scripts to create, enhance, debug, and run test cases.
• Research issues in software through testing to validate feedback, response time, and error codes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or a STEM-related specialty and 10 years of related professional experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with 8 years of related experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance; Top Secret (TS) security clearance is highly desired.
• Programming languages: Java, Angular, Gitlab, RHEL, JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, and Python.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and software development life cycle management.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with SIMP Project, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL.
• Relevant DoD and/or industry work experience in Space Systems Command.
• Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office.
