About the position

TGK Automotive Specialists is seeking a Senior Automotive Technician to join our team. This position is crucial for maintaining our commitment to providing high-quality automotive repair services to our clients. The Senior Automotive Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles efficiently and effectively, adhering to the MAP guidelines and the repair standards set by the dealership and manufacturer. Our company has been serving the community since 2007, and we pride ourselves on our honesty, integrity, and dedication to client satisfaction. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks including complex and heavy-duty repairs, conducting multi-point inspections, and explaining technical diagnoses to non-mechanical individuals such as service consultants and customers. You will also be responsible for recommending necessary services to keep vehicles in optimal running condition and documenting all recommendations accurately in the customer file. Safety is a priority, and you will be expected to follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to your direct supervisor. The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM, with no weekends or late nights required. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
  • Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs.
  • Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including the Store Manager and Service Consultants.
  • Recommend services necessary to keep the customer's vehicle in running condition and document all recommendations in the customer file.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to the direct supervisor.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Work flexible schedules, Monday - Friday.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive technician/mechanic experience required.
  • ASE certifications in lieu of experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
  • Valid Driver's license in the work State (out-of-state driver's licenses must be transferred to work state within 30 days of hire).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School experience preferred.
