About the position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Sr. Aviation Civil Engineer to join our Dallas, TX office. This position plays a crucial role in planning, designing, and leading the production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects, which include runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure. The successful candidate will support coordination with diverse design teams comprised of various design professionals and multi-discipline subconsultants during both the design and construction phases. This role also involves overseeing design elements and leading the production of engineering drawings, preparing specifications, contract documents, and other project-related documents such as reports and permit applications. In addition, the Sr. Aviation Civil Engineer will develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solutions. Field observations of construction will be performed where appropriate, and coordination with clients, permitting agencies, the FAA, and other agencies having jurisdiction will be required. The engineer will participate in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and reviewing designs and drawings performed by others. Upholding engineering ethics and standards of conduct is essential, and the engineer will perform other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
  • 7-15 years of experience in civil engineering.
  • PE License Required.
  • Experience with airside and landside aviation projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars, airport design, and engineering standards.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
