About the position

As a Senior AWS Cloud Data Solutions Architect at PNC, you will play a pivotal role in the Enterprise Data Management Technology organization. This position is based in one of PNC's Technology and Innovation hub office locations, including Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Dallas, Birmingham, or Phoenix. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and optimize complex data warehouses that support business users and Business Intelligence (BI) applications. You will analyze business intelligence data to make recommendations for data warehouse growth and integration across the enterprise. In this role, you will collaborate with IT and business customers to gather requirements for the overall data warehouse architecture. You will provide technical guidance to ensure that the architecture aligns with BI application needs. Additionally, you will lead the implementation and integration of data warehouses, ensuring that the data is current and meets organizational quality and integrity standards. Your expertise in data storage fundamentals, database design, big data technologies, ETL processes, and cloud governance will be essential in driving the success of PNC's data initiatives. You will also be responsible for managing risks associated with business objectives and activities, adhering to PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework. This position requires a strong understanding of AWS services, data encryption, access control, and compliance with industry standards such as GDPR and HIPAA. Your role will also involve setting up monitoring for data-related services and optimizing data pipelines for performance. With a focus on high availability and scalability, you will design solutions that are fault-tolerant and secure, ensuring that PNC remains a leader in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize complex data warehouses with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture.
• Analyze business intelligence data and make recommendations for data warehouse growth and integration.
• Collaborate with IT and business customers to develop requirements for the overall data warehouse architecture.
• Provide support and technical guidance to ensure architecture aligns with BI application needs.
• Lead and consult on the implementation and integration of data warehouses, ensuring data quality and integrity standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; higher education such as a Master's degree or PhD is desirable.
• 8+ years of industry-relevant experience in data architecture and cloud solutions.
• Proficiency in data storage options including Amazon S3, RDS, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with ETL processes and tools for data integration.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services related to data, such as S3, RDS, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Sagemaker, and Glue.
• Ability to design and implement cloud solutions considering scalability, security, and performance.
• Familiarity with best practices for deploying and managing cloud resources.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with machine learning and AI technologies.
