About the position

SAIC is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Computing Engineer for the Cloud One program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center. This role involves managing, operating, and supporting Azure environments to facilitate the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army's migration to cloud infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiencies and supporting the Data Center Optimization Initiative. The position is fully remote and requires expertise in cloud computing and virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and integrate cloud computing and virtualization systems.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement tools and services for efficient cloud-based solutions.
  • Develop and conduct testing of cloud and virtualization systems.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in Azure industry standards and related technologies.
  • Advise and assist the team lead in forecasting and prioritizing roadmap items.
  • Work within the Agile Framework to meet operational objectives.
  • Research and evaluate new security tools and products against operational requirements.
  • Identify and develop technical solutions to complex problems with minimal oversight.
  • Work independently or as part of a team in a virtualized Azure cloud environment.
  • Assist team members in utilizing automated configuration management tools.
  • Employ security, automation, and orchestration for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems and resolve production issues.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling, and process inefficiencies.

Requirements

  • Interim Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Security+ Certification is required.
  • Bachelor's degree and six years of experience in an IT-related discipline, or 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Expert understanding of deployments in Azure cloud environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Azure services including Azure Active Directory, Azure Automation, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
  • Expertise in CI/CD and DevOps workflows such as Azure Pipelines/TFS, GitLab.
  • Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Experience in integrated teams requiring high levels of customer contact and collaboration.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
  • Experience in design and implementation of IaaS and PaaS solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • An Azure/AWS certification.
  • SAFe DevOps certification.
  • Experience supporting software migration efforts.
  • Experience in an MSP or other IT company.
