About the position

Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity located in Dallas, TX. This position requires the engineer to work onsite 2-3 days per week. The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting services, processes, and hardware/software within Azure Cloud Infrastructure environments. This role involves production support and may require off-hour critical and/or emergency support to ensure business continuity. The engineer will manage the design, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of high-availability enterprise solutions, implementing industry standards utilizing Azure and M365. Responsibilities include proactive system administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and automation tasks to ensure system uptime and alert notifications. The role also involves provisioning Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and ARM templates, as well as managing Azure DevOps repositories and branch policies. In addition, the Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will build and configure development tools to improve automation and code deployment, focusing on Azure operations and application development. The engineer will identify and diagnose issues, perform issue resolution, and determine appropriate escalation when necessary. Responsibilities also include configuring, administering, and managing M365 services such as Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint, while troubleshooting infrastructure and software solutions to ensure enterprise systems stability. The engineer will define and implement the configuration of Azure IaaS and PaaS services for high availability, data redundancy, and data loss prevention. They will also define and implement cloud security architecture, ensuring data security at rest and in transit, application security, key management, and identity management. The role requires administering Active Directory, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, and group policies, as well as developing and monitoring management information system policies and controls within cloud tenant environments to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The engineer will also be responsible for installing equipment, managing software upgrades, and creating documentation on system processes to meet compliance and auditing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and support services within Azure Cloud Infrastructure environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer managing enterprise-level tenant in Azure.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level cloud management, including Azure PaaS services and security provisioning.
  • Proficient in Azure DevOps configuration and management.
  • Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, and ARM templates for provisioning Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Understanding of cloud tenant connectivity networking concepts, including VNet gateways and security.
  • Knowledge of Azure networking services, including Azure Virtual Networks and VPN configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with PowerShell for cloud management and administration.
  • Advanced Windows Server administration and management skills in an enterprise-level landscape.
  • Experience with M365 services configuration and administration, including Exchange Online and SharePoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and ADFS in cloud computing environments.

  • Azure Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-140, AZ-303, AZ-304.
  • Microsoft Certifications such as MS-500 and MS-102.
  • Experience with Linux server administration and management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like ADP, Epicor, and D365.
  • Familiarity with EPM tools such as Hyperion and TM1.
