About the position

Railhead, Inc. is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, supporting a critical digital modernization program for DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies. This role is pivotal in delivering new cloud service capabilities and involves developing, configuring, and deploying Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions within the Azure Cloud environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various Product Owners to ensure that end-user requirements are met effectively and efficiently. As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and deploying system architecture as code for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services in Azure Cloud. You will participate in agile project environments, contributing to user story development, sprint planning, and test case execution. Your role will require close collaboration with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other team members to address technical challenges across network, system, and application levels. You will also play a significant role in evaluating and supporting application architectures to ensure they align with cloud and application modernization strategies. In addition, you will be involved in the day-to-day execution of the enterprise architecture strategy, utilizing DevOps and CI/CD toolsets to manage agile release schedules. Your responsibilities will extend across multiple projects and systems, where you will develop user stories, system design documents, implementation plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). A strong understanding of technical security best practices within the Azure Cloud Platform is essential, as is knowledge of security policies, network security, data security, and security event management to effectively adopt cloud security services.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy as code system architecture for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services in Azure Cloud.
• Participate in the development of user stories, sprint planning, and test case development/execution within an agile project environment.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other team members to solve technical problems at the network, system, and application levels.
• Evaluate and support application architectures across platforms to ensure alignment with cloud and application modernization strategies.
• Participate in the execution of the enterprise architecture strategy via agile release schedules utilizing DevOps and CI/CD tool sets.
• Develop user stories, system design documents, implementation plans, and SOPs across multiple projects and systems.
• Understand technical security best practices and guidelines within the Azure Cloud Platform.

Requirements

• Possess a current Secret clearance or above.
• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Experience architecting, deploying, and operating solutions built on Azure.
• Experience with DevOps principles and Automation Platforms such as Azure Functions and Ansible.
• Experience with Identity Access Management (IDAM), AzureAD, and CyberArk.
• Excellent scripting experience/background (using PowerShell, BASH, and Python).
• Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and strong analytical ability.
• Expertise in the Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
