About the position

Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Infrastructure) for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity located in Dallas, TX. This position requires the candidate to be onsite 2-3 days per week. The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting services, processes, and hardware/software within Azure Cloud Infrastructure environments. This role involves production support and may require off-hour critical and/or emergency support to ensure business continuity. The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for managing the design, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of high-availability enterprise solutions, implementing industry standards utilizing Azure and M365. The role includes proactive system administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and automation tasks to ensure system uptime and alert notifications. The engineer will provision Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and ARM templates, and manage Azure DevOps repositories and branch policies. In addition, the engineer will build and configure development tools to improve automation and code deployment, focusing on Azure operations and application development. Troubleshooting infrastructure and software solutions to ensure enterprise systems stability is a key responsibility. The engineer will also define and implement the configuration of Azure IaaS and PaaS services for high availability, data redundancy, and data loss prevention, as well as cloud security architecture to ensure data security at rest and in transit. The role requires administering Active Directory, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, and managing group policies. The engineer will develop, implement, and monitor management information system policies and controls within cloud tenant environments to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for installing equipment, managing software upgrades, and proactively identifying and providing solutions to potential technical risks. Documentation of system processes to meet compliance and auditing regulations is also a critical aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and support services within Azure Cloud Infrastructure environments.
  • Manage design, deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain high-availability enterprise solutions.
  • Perform proactive system administration, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Provision Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and ARM templates.
  • Manage Azure DevOps repositories and branch policies.
  • Build and configure development tools to improve automation and code deployment.
  • Identify and diagnose issues, performing issue resolution and determining workarounds.
  • Configure, administer, and manage M365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and software solutions to ensure enterprise systems stability.
  • Define and implement the configuration of Azure IaaS and PaaS services for high availability and data redundancy.
  • Define and implement cloud security architecture, ensuring data security and compliance.
  • Administer Active Directory, Windows Servers, and Linux Servers.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor management information system policies and controls within cloud environments.
  • Install equipment and manage software upgrades and patches.
  • Proactively identify and provide solutions to potential technical risks.
  • Create and update documentation on system processes to meet compliance and auditing regulations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer managing enterprise-level tenant in Azure.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level cloud management, including Azure PaaS services and security provisioning.
  • Proficient in Azure DevOps configuration and management.
  • Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, and ARM templates for provisioning IaC.
  • Understanding of cloud tenant connectivity networking concepts, including VNet gateways and security.
  • Knowledge of Azure networking services, including Azure Virtual Networks and VPN configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with PowerShell for cloud management and administration.
  • Advanced Windows Server administration and management skills.
  • Experience with M365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and ADFS in cloud computing environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Azure Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-140, AZ-303, AZ-304.
  • Microsoft Certifications such as MS-500 and MS-102.
  • Experience with Linux server administration and management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like ADP, Epicor, and D365.
  • Familiarity with EPM tools like Hyperion and TM1.
