About the position
The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will be part of the CGI Cloud Engineering team, responsible for implementing Azure Cloud technologies and fostering a Cloud-First mindset. This role involves collaborating closely with architecture colleagues and clients to translate requirements into secure and highly available cloud environments. The position emphasizes the importance of Dev(Sec)Ops culture and practices, with a focus on automation and continuous integration/deployment.
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients in the Microsoft Azure domain.
- Translate client requirements into secure and highly available cloud environments, actively participating in the implementation.
- Select the appropriate platform for solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, or FaaS, and decide between containerized or serverless options.
- Integrate solutions into essential shared service areas such as networking, monitoring, OS operations, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate processes primarily using Terraform.
- Design and implement container-based solutions, mainly using managed Kubernetes and serverless platforms.
- Develop Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enhance project efficiency.
Requirements
- Degree in information technology or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of professional experience with Azure.
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-700, or AZ-305) or equivalent project experience.
- Deep knowledge of the current Azure and/or M365 service portfolio.
- Experience or understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Knowledge of cloud fundamentals including Windows or Linux, networking (DNS, firewalling, routing), monitoring, and scripting.
- Professional communication skills in German and English.
- High level of responsibility and proactivity.
