This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location. As a Senior Cloud Engineer in the Digital Platform Services Group, you will work closely with our engineering team to identify and implement optimized cloud-based solutions for the company. Your role will involve defining and recording best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance. You will provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies, ensuring application performance, uptime, and scale while maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design. Additionally, you will manage cloud environments in accordance with company and Federal security guidelines. In terms of cloud operations management, you will provide technical expertise in cloud service categories such as PaaS/SaaS/IaaS, design and build cloud infrastructure using VMWare, vCenter, vSphere, and Azure Virtual Machine, and implement configuration and deployment automation to improve functionality and manageability of our enterprise cloud offerings. You will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing disaster recovery and business continuity architecture, as well as monitoring and maintaining multiple environments based on client requirements. Continuous improvement is a key aspect of this role, where you will provide continuously improving sets of software and systems engineering practices for a streamlined IT environment. Excellent interpersonal, written, presentation, leadership, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills are essential, as you will interact with all levels of internal and external partners and cultivate positive relationships with industry authorities. You will also be tasked with solving incidents, identifying root causes, fixing and documenting problems, and implementing preventive measures. Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and providing associated training will be part of your responsibilities, along with employing exceptional problem-solving skills to tackle issues before they affect business productivity.
