About the position

In this opportunity as an Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (SRE), you will provision Azure resources by deploying and maintaining Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and other server software. Leverage deployment automation tools and custom deployment scripts appropriately. You will administer identity and access management leveraging Least Privileged Access approach, including management of Azure subscription role access controls, Active Directory, key vaults, Single Sign On, Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), and cryptographic certificates. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain Azure resources, oversee cloud security and threat management, manage backup and recovery systems, and act as a product Subject Matter Expert (SME) with other teams across the enterprise and product customers. You will also create and manage storage accounts, proactively monitor system performance, document system designs and operational procedures, evaluate emerging technologies, implement security measures, provide troubleshooting and technical support, and collaborate with software development, QA, and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provision Azure resources by deploying and maintaining IaaS, PaaS, and other server software.
  • Administer identity and access management leveraging Least Privileged Access approach.
  • Monitor and maintain Azure resources, setting applicable monitoring thresholds and alerts.
  • Oversee cloud security and threat management, managing Cisco firewalls and site-to-site VPN.
  • Manage and monitor backup and recovery systems, facilitating annual disaster recovery exercises.
  • Act as a product Subject Matter Expert (SME) with other teams and product customers.
  • Create and manage storage accounts, monitoring data utilization and performance.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and respond to alerts to meet high availability goals.
  • Document system designs and operational procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date.
  • Participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies and tools.
  • Leverage AI/ML technologies to enhance automation and optimize workflows.
  • Implement security measures and compliance protocols.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Collaborate with software development, QA, and product teams.
  • Effectively articulate complex problems and solutions to varied audiences.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, quality, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, Computer Science or related technical degree preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in software development and/or technology infrastructure and operations.
  • Experience managing Azure cloud infrastructure services.
  • Strong working knowledge in sizing, deploying, and automating VM creation and management.
  • Ability to quickly react to daily threats from external and internal sources.
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong drive to learn and apply new technologies.
