About the position

The Sr. Azure Cloud Engineer at Pattern Energy is responsible for leading the design and implementation of Azure cloud solutions. This role involves collaborating with various teams to support and develop applications and platforms, ensuring the effective migration and optimization of cloud resources. The engineer will play a critical role in managing cloud infrastructure, engaging with stakeholders, and providing strategic support as the company enhances its cloud adoption efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Azure resources to support enterprise workloads
  • Develop and maintain Azure policies to support modern Azure architecture
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their workloads
  • Optimize Azure platform, services, resources, design, and management
  • Play a key role in the tenant migration project
  • Functionally manage integrations between systems to ensure accurate and efficient transfer of data
  • Provide both structured and ad hoc training and troubleshooting assistance for global end users
  • Ensure optimal systems adoption from initial rollout into operational use
  • Maintain effective internal controls around systems operations
  • Manage testing suites and coordinate global testing for system upgrades

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in data management and engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar technical field
  • Experience migrating existing workloads from local data centers to Azure cloud
  • Ability to develop new applications that run in the cloud
  • Experience rebuilding existing applications to run in the cloud
  • Knowledge of optimizing cloud architectures for cost-effectiveness and resource efficiency
  • Experience designing workloads for high availability and reliability
  • Ability to architect Azure cloud infrastructures for workload scalability
  • Experience managing and optimizing Azure cloud costs and utilization
  • Strong understanding of security and governance principles
  • Proven track record of excellent communication and cooperation with varied stakeholders
