About the position
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to architect and implement scalable, performant, and reliable backend systems for our web3 tools startup. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new features and optimize existing systems, ensuring a robust infrastructure that supports our growing user base.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain backend services with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, design) to develop and launch new features.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, maintaining high testing coverage.
- Partner with DevOps to optimize infrastructure, manage costs, and improve system monitoring and alerting (e.g., Datadog experience).
- Design and implement APIs and integrations to ensure secure and robust data flows across the system.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend development experience in a professional setting.
- Experience shipping production apps using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience with distributed systems and task scheduling systems.
- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, with experience in query optimization and handling complex database interactions.
- Familiarity with Inversify for dependency injection, session management, and IoC containers.
- Experience with Kubernetes and horizontally scaling applications to ensure high availability.
- Familiarity with creating and maintaining APIs, handling authentication, and securing data flows.
- Familiar with DevOps and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog) to ensure system performance and reliability.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Remix for backend API development.
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of the web3 ecosystem or a strong interest in learning about blockchain technology.
