About the position

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at TikTok, you will be responsible for building machine learning solutions that address and mitigate business risks associated with TikTok products and platforms. This role focuses on developing robust machine learning infrastructures and applications, particularly in the areas of risk management and compliance. You will work within the ML Platform team, contributing to the overall mission of inspiring creativity and bringing joy through innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning solutions to respond to and mitigate business risks in TikTok products/platforms.
• Develop modeling infrastructures, LLM applications, labels, features, and algorithms to enhance robustness, automation, and generalization.
• Reduce modeling and operational load on risk adversaries and support new product/risk ramping-ups.
• Uplevel risk machine learning excellence on privacy/compliance, interpretability, risk perception, and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant machine-learning-heavy majors.
• Solid coding skills and ability to build large scale systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang, Java, C++, or Rust.

Nice-to-haves

• 3 years of industry experience in a software development environment.
• Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure, LLM applications, or social/content platform real-time stream computing systems.
• Strong machine learning background with proficiency or publications in modern machine learning theories and applications.
