About the position
The Senior Backend Java Developer will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance, scalable, and secure applications within an Agile environment. This role requires extensive experience in building large-scale, compute and event-driven solutions, with a focus on Java and cloud technologies. The developer will lead requirement analysis, participate in design reviews, and ensure that all software meets quality standards and functional requirements.
Responsibilities
- Actively participates and leads requirement analysis and reviews to identify missing or incomplete requirements.
- Actively participates in design of highly performing, scalable, secure, reliable and cost optimized solutions.
- Primary responsibility is application design and development of next gen clearing applications for business requirements in agreed architecture framework and Agile environment.
- Thoroughly analyzes requirements, develops, tests, and documents software quality to ensure proper implementation.
- Follows agreed upon SDLC procedures to ensure that all information system products and services meet quality standards, end-user functional requirements, architectural standards, performance requirements, audit requirements, security rules, and external facing reporting.
- Performs thorough code-reviews based on high engineering standards.
- Writes unit and integration tests based on chosen test frameworks.
- Performs application and project risk analysis and recommends quality improvements.
- Assists Production Support by providing advice on system functionality and fixes as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of experience in building large scale, compute and event-driven solutions.
- Experience in Java 11+
- Experience developing software using Object Oriented Designs, advanced patterns (like AOP) and multi-threading is required.
- Experience with cloud technologies and migrations, preferably with AWS foundational services like VPCs, Security groups, EC2, RDS, S3 ACLs, KMS, AWS CLI and IAM.
- Experience following Git workflows.
- Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD pipeline.
- Experience with distributed message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Amazon Kinesis.
