About the position

The Senior Backend Java Developer is responsible for managing complex projects through the entire application delivery cycle, including design, development, testing, and debugging. This role requires expertise in Java and related technologies to develop backend web applications, ensuring high performance and low latency for large volumes of transactions. The developer will work as an individual contributor while also providing technical guidance to project teams and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Write code and complete programming and documentation for enterprise applications.
• Perform testing and debugging of applications.
• Provide technical and analytical input to project teams and assist developers with project architecture.
• Manage individual projects and ensure completion within allotted timelines.
• Assist in defining project scope and objectives, providing technical architecture input.
• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status reports.
• Conduct project meetings and track project progress and analysis.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.
• Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in developing Java applications.
• 5+ years of experience in developing backend web applications.
• Expert in Java (11+) programming language and Spring Framework & Libraries.
• Proficient in Spock Unit testing.
• Very good understanding of Cassandra database for large volumes of data.
• Good understanding of Cassandra table design and query patterns.
• Very good understanding of Apache Kafka for asynchronous message processing.
• Proven development experience supporting large volume, low latency transactions.
• Good knowledge of Azure Cloud environments, Kubernetes, Docker, and Git.
