About the position

The Senior Software Engineer at Moody's is a hands-on role focused on the design and implementation of features for the MA Platform. This position requires a full life cycle engineer who will engage in peer code reviews, collaborate across teams, and drive initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for building components and features, formulating strategy, and ensuring deliverables align with team commitments. Strong programming skills, excellent communication, and a customer-centric approach are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement standalone features for the MA Platform.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and present designs.
  • Collaborate with team members and across teams to drive initiatives and features.
  • Build components and cutting-edge features while formulating strategy and direction.
  • Ensure deliverables fit into the overall team's commitments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional programming experience with a proven track record of on-time delivery.
  • Production programming experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, C#, or any strongly typed language.
  • Experience with relational data storage such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
  • Working experience with Microservice Architectures.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
  • Demonstrable skills in analytic computing and algorithms.
  • Understanding of advanced programming concepts such as multi-threading, memory management, and query processing.
  • Passion for finding and solving problems.
  • Proven ability to convey complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with OAuth2.0, SAML 2.0, SCIM, and IDPs such as AWS Cognito, Okta, or Azure Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure EventHub or AWS SNS/SQS.
  • Familiarity with data science/analytics and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience working with event-driven architecture.

  • Base salary range of $112,000 - $184,950 depending on experience and location.
