About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. The TikTok for Business (TT4B) recommendation engineering team is responsible for building the next-generation TT4B recommendation system, which provides individual advertisers with fully customized recommendations for operational ads management. This includes quantitative adoption estimates and self-service or automated actions to implement these recommendations. The recommendations will be prominently displayed to advertisers across various TT4B products, including Ads Manager, Business Suite, Business Account, and the TT4B Marketing Website. The team is responsible for every component of the recommendation process, from population and expansion to performance and rendering. We leverage the latest AI technology, highly distributed systems, and industry-leading frontend technologies to innovate and enhance our offerings. We are seeking engineers and tech leads who are eager to contribute to the development of powerful and impactful TT4B recommendation systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn about TT4B's core ads infrastructure and gain knowledge in various advertising domains, such as creatives, measurement, budget management, and campaign creation flows. You will collaborate directly with business partners to influence product roadmaps, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive revenue growth. Additionally, you will work alongside a strong technical community, including domain experts, to achieve architectural and product excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a focused engineering team to design and implement new features for the TT4B recommendation system.
• Propose and drive the overall TT4B recommendation roadmap and ensure product excellence.
• Develop, deploy, optimize, troubleshoot, and operate TT4B end-to-end systems.
• Collaborate with attribution and data engineering teams to monitor and improve TT4B recommendation performance.
• Work with leadership and sister teams to promote the TT4B recommendations framework and integrate it with the TT4B end-to-end ads solution.
• Partner with dedicated PMs to refine, review, and drive iterations of TT4B recommendations' requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• Hands-on full stack (backend and frontend) coding experience.
• Proven experience leading team members.
• Experience driving cross-team collaborations at scale.
• Excellent architecture experience in designing highly scalable and low-latency systems.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and software design.
• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong teamwork skills, including communication, ownership, empathy, and honesty.

• Relevant experience in the advertising industry.
• Experience with recommendation engines, machine learning, data analysis, domain-driven design, and complex infrastructure.
