About the position

The Senior Behavioral Health Clinician at Life Changes Group, part of the Optum family, plays a crucial role in providing mental, behavioral, and psychological treatment services to patients. This position focuses on delivering compassionate care through various treatment methodologies, either in individual or group settings, and aims to improve the overall health and well-being of patients by addressing their physical, mental, and social needs. The clinician will work collaboratively within a team to educate the community and assist patients in overcoming barriers to health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental, behavioral, and psychological treatment services or therapy directly to patients.
  • Conduct assessments or evaluations for mental health disorders and develop, review, and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Assist patients and their families in changing behaviors and accessing interpersonal, family, and community resources.
  • Provide community education and consultation to staff and other healthcare professionals regarding methods to help patients recognize and overcome barriers to health.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with couples or family counseling.
  • Experience with children or adolescents.
  • Experience with health psychology.
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation, including Excel, Outlook, and EHRs like Athena RMS.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
