About the position

The Senior BI Analyst at Nucor's DJJ division is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that provide valuable financial and operational insights. This role is crucial for enabling data-driven decisions across multiple departments, shaping strategies, and driving business success. The analyst will work on building data pipelines, models, dashboards, and reports while ensuring the performance and reliability of BI solutions. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain innovative BI solutions that provide financial and operational insights.
  • Build data pipelines, models, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making across departments.
  • Ensure the performance, availability, and reliability of BI solutions.
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders, presenting data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot complex data discrepancies and performance issues, sharing knowledge with others.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, liaising with technical teams for system integration.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of BI experience developing data pipelines/ETLs, and building reports and dashboards.
  • Proven experience designing and optimizing enterprise-scale data architectures and ETL workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency in designing and implementing complex reports and dashboards.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting complex data discrepancies and performance issues.
  • Ability to lead discussions with stakeholders and present data-driven insights confidently.
  • Proven track record of owning major initiatives from conception to completion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/IS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics platforms in Databricks, Azure, data lakes, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Proficiency in using Power BI, DAX and/or MDX expressions for complex data modeling and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and pivot tables.
