Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Senior BI Developer (SQL BI / PowerBI) for a 3-6 month contract-to-hire opportunity located in Irving, TX. This role requires the candidate to be onsite for two days every other week (Monday and Tuesday). The Senior BI Developer will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the current and future data warehouse, business intelligence (BI) solutions, and data migration strategies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing database architectures, data warehouses, data migrations, data marts, and BI packages, as well as implementing user reporting solutions. A strong understanding of database methodology, data analysis, advanced SQL queries, ETL processes, and business intelligence applications is essential for success in this position. The Senior BI Developer will implement new BI and data warehouse requirements, utilizing SQL, ETL, BI tools, and database development techniques to create effective reporting solutions. This role involves interfacing with customers and technical leaders to identify project scope, vet requirements, and determine effective reporting strategies. The candidate will lead internal business partner and external third-party team meetings, ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. In addition, the Senior BI Developer will develop, implement, and maintain ETL solutions to bring new data into the data warehouse. They will be responsible for optimizing database design to achieve acceptable performance, including tuning views and indexes for proper response times. The role also requires collaboration with business analysts and data engineers to understand data requirements and design ETL solutions accordingly. The candidate will respond to ad-hoc query requests from various departments, perform full lifecycle data warehouse and BI solution development, and conduct data analysis to determine the root cause of data integrity and quality issues. The Senior BI Developer will provide guidance and recommendations on BI reporting packages, adjusting systems and processes to prevent issue recurrence. Expertise in the MS SQL BI stack, including SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS, is required, along with hands-on experience in developing SSAS and MDX for implementations. The candidate should also have experience supporting month-end financial reporting processes and effectively communicating complex issues to all levels of the business. The ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems related to data load issues, system response times, and business rule conflicts is essential. Finally, the candidate should possess expertise in identifying business and data requirements and converting them into conceptual and logical data models.
