About the position

The Senior BI Programmer at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) plays a crucial role in enhancing data accessibility and usage within the organization. This position is part of the Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics team, which is dedicated to providing BI and analytics services across TNC. The Senior BI Programmer will lead analytics projects, optimize the use of Power BI, and support the development of a self-service analytics framework, ensuring that data-driven insights are readily available to business partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics projects of varying scope and complexity.
• Optimize the usage of Power BI for the organization.
• Support the development of a self-service analytics framework.
• Conduct quality assurance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Research and recommend technical and process solutions for the BI & Analytics team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant technical discipline.
• Three years of experience in programming and systems design, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI including DAX, Power Query, and building visuals.
• Experience with SQL, base SAS, Databricks, or Python.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple competing demands.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing or implementing an enterprise-level self-service analytics framework.
• Experience analyzing complex system-wide technical specifications and interfaces.
• Working knowledge of relational database best practices and concepts.
• Experience in a global organization or non-profit business model.
