About the position

The Senior-Big Data Engineer at AT&T Services, Inc. is responsible for architecting and developing solutions using Business Intelligence (BI) applications to provide insights and visualizations for the business. This role involves managing and supporting users on BI applications, defining data requirements, and working with large-scale structured and unstructured data. The engineer will implement data quality procedures, support data scientists, and utilize Generative AI for data analytics. The position requires collaboration with various teams to create data policies and develop best practices in data engineering and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop solutions using BI applications to provide insights and visualizations.
  • Manage and support users on Business Intelligence applications such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Define data requirements and gather large-scale structured and unstructured data.
  • Validate data by running various data tools in the Big Data Environment.
  • Support standardization, customization, and ad-hoc data analysis.
  • Develop mechanisms to ingest, analyze, validate, normalize, and clean data.
  • Implement statistical data quality procedures on new data sources.
  • Support Data Scientists in data sourcing and preparation for visualization.
  • Utilize Generative AI in data analytics to automate data extraction and analysis processes.
  • Work with vendors to build new reports quickly and generate visualizations from data.
  • Collaborate with Big Data Policy and Security teams to create data policies and retention models.
  • Develop and maintain data engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience utilizing analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, and Azure.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Java, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with operating systems: Linux, Windows, and Mac OS.
  • Experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Mongo DB, and Cloudera.
