About the position

The Senior Big Data Full Stack Engineer at Toyota will be responsible for engineering a best-in-class enterprise Data Platform using cutting-edge technologies. This role emphasizes agility, DevSecOps, and continuous innovation, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high performance and scalability of the Big Data platform. The position supports the Data and Analytics department's goal of enabling data-driven decision-making in the mobility sector.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop state-of-the-art Big Data solutions in AWS to enable advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Build scalable and highly secure data infrastructure and cloud engineering solutions for big data processing.
  • Drive engineering agility with infrastructure and CI-CD automations for higher productivity and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Collaborate with platform users to recommend best cloud services and automated solutions.
  • Perform design, feature, and code reviews to ensure high quality and maintainability.
  • Support building analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline for actionable insights.
  • Stay current on industry developments to lead system/process improvements.
  • Collaborate with product owners, data architects, security engineers, and business SMEs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing Big Data solutions for business analytics and data science teams.
  • 2-3 years of proficient experience in Cloud Engineering (AWS) including infrastructure automation with Terraform or Cloud Formation.
  • Experience with DevOps and deployment automations using GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and other tools.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Data platforms and Engineering solutions with Spark, SQL, Python, Java, Scala-Spark, and Bash.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • AWS/Databricks cloud certifications.
  • Experience with Automobile and/or Manufacturing organizations.
