About the position

Our Fin-Tech client is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Bilingual Copywriter. In this role, you will create compelling and culturally resonant content in both English and Spanish for their CRM campaigns, which include email marketing, SMS, in-app messaging, and other customer engagement initiatives. This position is crucial for ensuring that the messaging not only reaches the audience but also resonates with them on a cultural level, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the campaigns. As a Senior Bilingual Copywriter, you will be responsible for developing and writing high-quality, engaging, and persuasive copy in both languages. You will ensure that translations are culturally relevant, resonate with the target audience, and maintain the intended tone and messaging. Collaboration with marketing and creative teams will be essential to understand campaign objectives, target audience demographics, and key messaging. Additionally, you will provide linguistic and cultural insights to enhance the effectiveness of advertising content, ensuring that all communications are tailored to the audience's preferences and cultural context. Your role will also involve conducting thorough proofreading and editing of translated content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines. This hybrid contract-to-hire position is based in Chicago, and candidates who are native Spanish speakers are preferred, as this will enhance the authenticity and effectiveness of the content produced.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write high-quality, engaging and persuasive copy in both English and Spanish for CRM campaigns, including emails, SMS, push notifications and in-app messages
  • Ensure translations are culturally relevant, resonate with the target audience and maintain the intended tone and messaging
  • Work closely with marketing and creative teams to understand campaign objectives, target audience demographics and key messaging
  • Provide linguistic and cultural insights to enhance the effectiveness of advertising content
  • Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of translated content to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to brand guidelines

Requirements

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages
  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in-house or ad agency with a strong portfolio showcasing bilingual copywriting (English/Spanish) both short and long-form
  • CRM copy experience across SMS, web and email are preferred
  • Deep understanding of the cultural nuances, idioms, and expressions in both English and Spanish-speaking markets
  • Familiarity with technical information and/or working within the financial services industry
