Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on local and regional projects, providing expertise and leadership.
  • Perform structural analysis and create precise design calculations.
  • Conduct thorough QA/QC reviews to ensure excellence.
  • Share your technical wisdom with fellow team members.
  • Work closely with other V3 disciplines on multifaceted projects.
  • Be ready to tackle other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 8 - 12 years of bridge design, analysis, and load rating experience.
  • Familiarity with clients such as IDOT, Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, County DOTs, and local municipalities.
  • Proficiency in AASHTO, AREMA, IDOT, and ISTHA design standards.
  • Strong knowledge of design software, including OpenBridge Designer, MDX, LPile, Midas, and STAAD.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation is essential, and familiarity with OpenBridge Modeler is a plus.
  • PE license required; SE license or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree with a structural focus is highly desirable.
