About the position

The Senior BT Risk & Compliance Analyst at Discover Financial Services is responsible for implementing and maintaining the technology risk framework that aligns with governance, risk, and compliance objectives. This role requires collaboration with various departments to effectively manage technology-related risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The analyst will analyze and manage risk management issues, making informed decisions on operational or enterprise risks while actively escalating customer-impacting issues to management.

Responsibilities

  • Documents and ensures communication of key risks.
  • Maintains input or data quality of risk management systems.
  • Identifies key risks and mitigating factors of potential investments, such as asset types and values, legal and ownership structures, professional reputations, customer bases, or industry segments.
  • Recommends ways to control or reduce risk.
  • Devises systems and processes to monitor validity of risk-modeling outputs.
  • Uses a wide range of technology with an emphasis on cybersecurity to advise and counsel their partners.
  • Assist and support in driving and maintaining the implementation and maintenance of framework that manages governance, risk and compliance objectives.
  • Manage risk management, compliance and security governance activities.
  • Translate compliance and technical requirements into relevant and understandable terms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Information Technology, Risk, Compliance or related field

  • Familiarity with risk assessment frameworks and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think critically and make informed decisions based on data.
