About the position

The Senior Budget & Accounting Analyst at Missouri University of Science and Technology plays a crucial role in monitoring and tracking position funding, ensuring accurate allocation of General Revenue Allocation (GRA) funds. This position involves overseeing campus-wide budget and accounting projects, providing support to campus management and fiscal officers, and maintaining the campus capital asset financial database. The analyst will also supervise the annual operating budget process, assist in financial reporting, and represent the campus in system-wide meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track position funding, ensuring accurate allocation of GRA funds.
  • Complete campus-wide budget and accounting projects involving data collection, review, reconciliation, audit, analysis, and reporting of campus financial data.
  • Assist in finance system setup, maintenance, and monitoring system processes.
  • Support campus management and division fiscal officers in retrieving and analyzing financial data, and designing reports for internal and external needs.
  • Provide assistance, training, and guidance to the campus community regarding financial matters.
  • Supervise and help build the campus annual operating budget, recommending procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain campus capital asset financial database and prepare monthly and yearly reconciliations.
  • Calculate accounting entries and create routine and non-routine journal entries.
  • Assist in closing the campus books for the fiscal year.
  • Complete yearly analysis of campus Unrelated Business Income (UBI) and prepare documentation for tax returns.
  • Assist in completing NCAA AUP annual financial report and Annual Report to the President on Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Represent campus in University system-wide meetings and participate in committees.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a related field.
