The Senior Budget Analyst for the Provost's Office at the University of La Verne plays a crucial role in aligning the university's resources with its mission and strategic priorities. The analyst is responsible for forecasting and budget development, working closely with university leaders and academic deans to create growth-oriented financial models. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the university's budget, ensuring alignment with its mission and strategic initiatives.
  • Forecast and model budget processes to anticipate the results of various university decisions.
  • Authorize significant expenditures and financial commitments within the Division of Academic Affairs.
  • Act as the Provost's agent on budgetary, financial, and policy matters as authorized.
  • Utilize the university's data warehousing to prepare financial reports for administrators and the Board of Trustees.
  • Monitor financial performance of all colleges and university divisions, reviewing budgetary implications of new initiatives.
  • Partner with deans to develop realistic and growth-oriented financial models for the university.
  • Oversee pre- and post-award functions for government-funded grants and ensure compliance with funding agency requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of administrative support experience for a high-level administrator
  • 5 years of financial or budgetary experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact diplomatically
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to support and empathize with historically underrepresented populations

Nice-to-haves

  • Business, marketing, and event planning experience
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • MBA or graduate degree or certificate highly preferred
