About the position

The Senior Budget Analyst will support the Airman Systems Directorate's Biomedical Impact of Flight Branch at Wright Patterson AFB, focusing on the Defense Health Program's Medical Human Performance initiatives. This role involves providing budget analysis expertise, managing financial operations, and ensuring effective execution of the medical research portfolio, which includes projects valued at $40 million.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of electronic products for project management and reporting to Division and Wing officials.
  • Provide budget analyst expertise for operations within the medical funded Human Performance Research portfolio.
  • Log into AF Teams during work hours and maintain an accurate status indicator.
  • Implement administrative and monitoring support tools for budget management operations.
  • Utilize financial/programming data systems to retrieve and synthesize information for reporting.
  • Assess budget execution across different types of funds and monitor contractor obligations and expenditures.
  • Perform DoD budget analyst duties to support product development across multiple projects.
  • Develop, review, and finalize project independent cost estimates.
  • Maintain the HP Portfolio's annual travel budget, forecasting and monitoring expenditures.
  • Collaborate with a team to collect and analyze project data for program execution and reporting.
  • Define budget issues/risks and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration/management, accounting, finance, or economics.
  • DAWIA career field certification (APDP Level I or higher) in Business - Cost Estimating or Business - Financial Management (FM).
  • DoD Financial Management and Comptroller professional training and certification.
  • Minimum five years of budget analyst/financial management experience in a DoD environment.
  • Minimum two years of experience with Comprehensive Cost and Requirements System (CCaR).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting DoD program reviews and budget planning.
  • Familiarity with Air Force Medical Service funding structure in CCAR.
  • Understanding of fiscal restrictions/regulations and contract vehicles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, management, and communication skills.
